2022 was a banner reading year for me. Thanks to a Reading Journal that I created and used, and a renewed personal push to read whenever I could, I finished 50 books, half of which were nonfiction.

I enjoy both fiction and nonfiction but the latter is my favorite. Last year I picked most titles to learn how to elevate my author platform. I read some because I found the author intriguing. I ventured into a few because they showed up on my recommended reading lists.

To carve out the time and to make this effort more affordable, I used my Kindle Unlimited subscription, started an Audible subscription and checked out books (mostly audio) from the library. I listened to books while walking the dog, while driving a two-hour commute to tend my grandson every other week, or when there was down time at night or the weekends.

Here are the self-help books I read and finished in 2022.

Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear. I loved this book so much, I got the hardback. His personal journey is so inspiring.

You are a Bad*** at Making Money by Jen Sincero. This book is funny and brims with tough love, pushing me out of my usual self-sabotaging mantras.
