A roundup of wonderful hosting advice I received from my amazing readers

A few days ago, before my three married children and their families were to stay at our house for Christmas, I started to panic.

I needed a week’s worth of breakfasts, lunches and dinners, with the caveat that they should be easy yet festive. My husband, bless his heart, in an attempt to be helpful, said we should let the kids root through our pantry to make their lunches. I hoped to land somewhere in the middle: not fussy but not quite a free-for-all.

I turned to my author-newsletter subscribers for advice. I was floored to get several heartfelt emails sharing not only their family’s traditions and recipes, but also words of encouragement. My emotions are already kinda close to the surface at Christmastime…this outpouring of kindness and generosity brought me to (happy) tears.

My family has arrived and we’ve had our first meal (Korean bar-b-q) together. (It’s easy and festive since we all cook the meat on griddles in the middle of the table.)

I thought I would pay it forward and share what my wonderful newsletter subscribers passed on to me. I can’t wait to try some of the following hosting ideas, and I hope you will find them helpful, too.
