Why Kamala Harris would be a great choice for President
A registered Republican’s viewpoint
In light of President Biden’s announcement over the weekend, I am sharing an updated version of what I wrote about Kamala Harris before the 2020 elections. I stood by it then, and I stand by it now.

As an immigrant to this country and as a woman who has been elected to public office, I can very much relate to Kamala Harris and have admired her work. Not only because of her credentials as a prosecutor, attorney general, or the vice-president of the United States, but how she will hold people’s feet to the fire — especially those in the highest office.
As a senator, she has asked tough questions that I as a constituent wished more of our elected leaders would — whether it’s about sexual assault allegations against a Supreme Court nominee, or a president during his impeachment hearings, when she reminded the nation that NO ONE, not even the President of the United States of America, is above the law.
As an Attorney General, she has fearlessly prosecuted gang members, big corporations, and malfeasant public servants. She has innovated programs to help reduce recidivism and to address police reform.
